And what a walkway!

The other day a couple invited me to see their Jeffrey Bale walkway.  Isn't it wonderful?

On a beautiful day

We are having some lovely spring weather.  We have more coming today and tomorrow.

Laurelhurst Park, walking home from an errand

John made a nice composed salad of watermelon radish and kumato tomatoes with basil and mozzarella, all drizzled with olive oil and balsamic vinegar.  The watermelon radishes and kumato tomatoes are just the thing during this between winter and summer food time.

John has been reading, reading, reading.  He didn't even know I took this photo.  I am begging for some projects but this is all he likes to do.  What has happened to the guy I married who made things?

The true spirit of Portland

Today John and I parked on our side of the river (the East side) and walked across the Hawthorne Bridge and then up the waterfront to the cherry trees that are planted in Waterfront Park.  I took some of my own photos and I found some really great ones when I searched cherry trees Portland waterfront.

This photo is from the Oregonian last year and there are several nice ones if you follow the link.

John and the cherry trees

I've been craving a Voodoo maple bar for some tine now.  I walked by Voodoo Doughnuts two days this week when I was on my way home from jury duty but the line was just too long...   And then, today, walking along the waterfront I spied these three boxes which I recognized immediately.

I struck up a conversation with the people who owned these boxes.  I told them I longed for a maple bar and about the long lines when I was there.  And they GAVE ME a maple bar!    Now that is the true spirit of Portland.  The maple bar was wonderful.  Yummmmmm.

A visit from Woolly-Bully

I've been feeding nuts to the squirrels just outside the back door.  They were already eating the birdseed meant for the birds.  I used to chase them away but they are fun to watch.  I think the cats find them more interesting than the birds.

I call them all Woolly-Bully.
