Riding in the bucket

We did go to the International Tree Climbing Championship.  Portland Parks was offering free rides in their cherry picker bucket.  I took one.  It was fun!  I asked the guy how far up we were.... 55 feet up in the air.

We did watch some tree climbing.  This lady was Australian (for you Dave and Nancy).

And a photo of two fancy wooden bicycles.  Not sure WHY one would want a wooden bicycle but they are pretty fancy.

International Tree Climbing Championship

Our local park is hosting the International Tree Climbing Championship this weekend.  They've been preparing for several days.  It sounds like a cool event and we plan to go.  However, I haven't liked them over there closing my favorite walkway and pruning so many trees.   It's sponsored by arborists so I hope they are being kind to our trees.  We walk through there most every day.  That park is part of where we live.
