Sink Cabinet Update

It's almost demolition day.  Over the weekend we started preparing.  We took everything out of the uppers. We put the things we don't think we will need for a few weeks in a closet.

We moved the things we do think we will need in here.

And John put protective cardboard on the corners of the cabinets.  He plans to move them upstairs tomorrow.

Miserable weather

It's hot and windy today and I don't like it one bit.  It doesn't get windy here that often and I am grateful for that.   We got out early, before the wind picked up, to take care of our plants.  The wind started before we finished and I couldn't wait to get inside.  Today may hit a record temperature for this date as well. I wish I could bring the plants in with me.  The hot windy spell is trying for them, too.

Hollywood Farmers Market

Yesterday we walked to the Hollywood Farmers' Market.  It's nice to walk but I missed the variety of the downtown market.

Triple Falls Hike

Today we went for a short hike to Triple Falls;  I needed to clean out my pipes (airways).

The Back Yard

The back yard is getting pretty inviting.

The birds are really enjoying the new location for the fountain as well as the bird bath in the front yard.  We have a big robin who is especially fun to watch bathe.   He's quite a splasher.

The back yard is always cooler than the front yard and it will be a nice escape from the heat wave this weekend.

Happy May Day

My friend and neighbor Lori has been orchestrating  May Day flower deliveries in our neighborhood for several years and I've been a lucky recipient for many of those years.  This year I made the baskets and Lori did the legwork.  Then this afternoon we delivered May baskets with a few of the neighborhood children.  I was pretty pooped after making 37 baskets but it was fun any way.
