Bits of now

The cherries are in bloom all over Portland.  They are so varied, so beautiful and smell divine!

Last night's dinner, ready for John to cook!  He made chicken with thai basil and it was excellent.

My little bitty garden along the sidewalk.  I like to look at it.

My new bird bath for the front yard.  It is easy to keep clean and was very reasonably priced.  I am yet to see a bathing bird but I haven't been on the front porch much because it's a little rainy and cool for porch sitting.

Close by house.  I love the columns and the daffodils are really nice now.

I like this dormer which is on a neighborhood house.

The door to summer

Yesterday it was over sixty and balmy, which is gloriously warm  for March.  We spent a fair amount of time on the front porch basking in the sun like lizards.  It was warm enough to open the door and let the cats enjoy the door to summer.  That's John sweeping the front stairs.

We also managed a little gardening.  This is the corylopsis pauciflora, which is glorious right now.

And here is the pieris japaonica

A house on my walk...

And Portland Nursery, brimming with plants.
