I ran across this photo here.  Oh, the carnival, lit up at night.  It looks so magical and alluring.  I think how it looks is probably the best part....

A walk in a different direction

In this direction many of the houses are bigger and grander.

This is one isn't so grand but it is so fun!  Look at all those sculptures.  Can you make out the one on the roof?

This is the da Vinci Arts Middle School, part of Portland Public Schools.  I bet it's fun to go there!  I hope it is.

I did finally finish my quilt

I started this quilt in June, I think.  I am never all that prolific but this one didn't get done for a long time.  It was too hot for handwork most of the summer.

The background fabrics are hand dyed by Vicki Welsh.  The batik strips are from a friend who is a much more prolific quilter.  I thank them both for the wonderful fabrics.

Magic light of autumn

I love the light in autumn.  It's always showing me nice surprises.  A few days ago I was at the mad tile lady's house and I saw this out her window.  In real life it had that magic scene inside an egg feel.  It was so three dimensional and pulling me toward the light....
